About Stephen Pellettiere
Steve Pellettiere graduated with a degree in Earth Science (minor in math) from Kean University in 1975. Immediately upon graduation, Steve began a private weather service at Morristown Airport, Morristown, New Jersey. His company, Ion Weather, has been serving corporations, municipalities, law firms and insurance companies ever since. Steve has been broadcasting the weather on local radio stations in the northeast for over 33 years and was a staff Meteorologist on WCBS AM News 88 in New York from 1989 to 2001.
Steve is a recognized “expert” in the field of meteorology in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Maryland courts. He has written over 1400 weather research reports and testified in court over 100 times since 1976. Steve also oversees computer and website operations for his company. With sensitivity to what severe weather can do to communities, Steve has volunteered and served in many storm damage relief programs. He traveled to New Orleans twice in 2006 for weeklong missions for Hurricane Katrina Relief, a part of Catholic Charities’ “Operation Helping Hands” program.
Steve is a member of the American Meteorological Society, The National Weather Association and The American Academy of Forensic Sciences. He has an active 2nd degree black belt in Korean Tae Kwon Do and has been bestowed an Honorary Colonel, United States Army for continued public service.
